Description
Mike Bourkes Mangahuia Wetlands are situated near the north end of Main South Road. They were constructed in 1997 and are now surrounded by hundreds of exotic and native shrubs and trees. Water plants, including varieties of water lilies and irises.
There is opportunity for photography, walking, kayaking and even a bit of fishing. Water foul abound. Endemic, native & introduced birds are also often heard and sometimes seen in the surrounding trees.
Strictly no camping, tenting or freedom camping without prior arrangement with owner.
Strictly no fires.
Take away all rubbish. Leave only your footprints.
No toilet or rubbish facilities available.
