Because of the bad weather we stayed there one night in a Cabin (4 adults, 95€ ~ 160 NZD). The cabin itself had very simple inventory but more than enough for one night. The views from the cabin were great. Even with bad weather we could enjoy the best sunset from the porch. The best of the campsite must be the pub. Great food, great staff and great beer. We had a warm welcome in the local community and enjoyed the evening a lot. So if you don't stay for the night you should at least visit the pub

The campground/price is not okay: 50 NZD per night, plus you pay extra for the shower and wifi. The sites are also uneven. Price-performance ratio is not good at all. To make matters worse, the owner is rude and disrespectful. He shouted loudly in front of other guests at us because we dared not go straight to our site, but stopped first just before (we wanted to turn our car). The only positive thing we can report is the view of the sea from the campground. You should avoid the campground (at least because of the price). There are beautiful free campsites all over Cape Palliser (especially the one in Ngawi, where there are even toilets). These campsites should be preferred.

Nice place, but not for tents: No shadow and very windy.
