So many mosquitoes 🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟

Tasman Travels

Stayed here one night last night to do The Pinnacles walk in the morning. $8.00 per adult, per night, or free with the DOC Camp Pass. Not really designed for larger campers, ours is 7-metres, but we were the only van there. There is a gated area for walk-in, tents only, and then a grassed area for vans. Right next to the walk carpark which is busy, but quiet at night, drop loo and no Vodafone signal, has TV signal though. Something the info centre didn't tell us, vehicles over 6tonne cannot get to any of the campsites, FYI. The Pinnacles walk is hard but fantastic by the way! It's a fine campsite to be close to the walk start, that's it. Find us on Insta if you're touring @saltyskin or at our blog 8-)

You pay the overall fee to stay in that national park, paying is at the visitor center/office (after hours there is an "honesty box" where you need cash) or online. You can pick which campsite you will stay in once you're past the visitor center. NOTE: there is zero to none phone covarage starting from the third campsite. This campsite has stinky drop toilets and all the cars where people have gone up to the hut for a night. Really good place to stay if you want to do the walk first thing in the morning. Loads of sandflies tho, so def bring some OFF. Rangers check morning and evening.
