Description
This hut is a great overnight tramp for families with children or new trampers. Totora Flats Hut sits on river flats above Waiohine River. This is a serviced 26-bunk hut in the Tararua Forest Park in the Wairarapa region. Fees apply. Bookings not required - first come, first served
Facilities include heating (wood burner with firewood provided), mattresses, non-flush toilets and water (not treated - boil before use).

Mt Holdsworth Road end: 4 hr
Waiohine Gorge Road end: 4 hr 30 min
Tutuwai Hut: 5 hr
Neill Forks Hut: 4 hr
Sayer Hut: 1 hr
Cone Hut: 4 hr
Dogs are not allowed in backcountry huts.
Before you go, buy 1 Serviced Hut Ticket (green for adults, orange for youth) or 3 Standard Hut Tickets (blue for adults, yellow for youth) for each night's stay. Put these in the honesty box at the hut. Or buy a Backcountry Hut Pass for unlimited use at most Serviced and Standard huts for a 6 or 12 month period.
