Description

This is a basic three-bunk hut located in Kaimai Mamaku Conservation Park in the Tauranga area. It is free to stay. Bookings not required - first come, first served. Facilities include heating, mattresses, non-flush toilets and water(not treated - boil before use). This hut is managed by the Thames Valley Deerstalkers Association. Motutapere Hut is in the southern Kaimai Mamaku Conservation Park on a marked and signposted side track from the North South Track about two hours south of the Tuahu Saddle (summit of Tuahu Track). Tracks in the area are route or tramping track standard, they require good fitness and navigation skills.
