Description

Freedom camping permitted in CERTIFIED SELF-CONTAINED VEHICLES ONLY. You may stay up to 3 nights. Popular Freedom Camping Site in a beautiful reserve right next to the Wairoa River. Try your luck at catching a fish for dinner from the Wairoa River or go for a walk along the 7.9km long river walkway, from the lighthouse to Whakamahia Beach. Take all rubbish with you and leave no trace. Keep New Zealand clean. Always use the toilet in your vehicle or a public toilet.
